Why look for inspiration, like, RIGHT NOW?

Sport OR work team warm-ups are important

Here we are, 10 months on since the world’s axis changed due to Covid. You have some idea now of what the future holds, but there are still a number of question marks. Your staff are probably still feeling uncertain as well. How secure is their job? Will there be another pay cut or furlough? How drastically will the organization, and their role in it, change in the coming months?

As a leader, you’ve been doing a good job providing reassurance, being transparent about the company’s decision-making, and ensuring that your folks have what they need to work productively. But there’s still some under-engagement, tension in relationships, an underlying sense of negativity.

Let’s face it. When you took on this leadership role – whether as a team lead or leading an entire division – you probably didn’t anticipate the challenges presented in the past year. You couldn’t have predicted having to do so much in terms of reducing resistance, rallying and providing support.

The new reality is that your job is about reducing negativity by leading people to somewhere positive.

Where is “somewhere positive”?

Does “somewhere positive” seem difficult to get to? How would it feel if you knew that getting there was not as difficult as it sounds?

Leading people towards somewhere positive can be done by simply establishing a culture of creative problem-solving. When it’s systematic and consistent, creative problem-solving can lead to:

·      A healthier (triple) bottom line

·      Higher performing teams

·      Happier people

·      A higher level of engagement, morale and confidence

·      A lower rate of attrition

·      Better systems and processes

We all want to be inspired!

Especially now we want to be inspired because:

·      Covid has accelerated the pace of pivoting in response to changing circumstances, including in the nature of working. While pivoting rapidly can feel like reacting to a situation, it can be turned into a proactive action... an IBM survey reported that 81% of CEOs rated innovation as a “crucial capability” because of [it providing] the ability to shift quickly in response to external events. You’ve got the roller coaster – all you need now is the inspiration.

·      Doing strategic planning when the future can’t be accurately predicted is tough. But if you focus only on solving already existing problems, it’s going to be hard to create the services and products that satisfy customers in the long-term. It’s time to be increasingly proactive about understanding customers’ wants and needs… being inspired to dive deeper into the customer psyche is a good place to start.

·      Funders are super-cautious right now, which means their attention is grabbed by projects, products and processes that stand out. Get inspired to find a new way to capture their interest.

If you need help getting to “somewhere positive”

If you don’t have the experience or tools to guide your team in creative problem-solving, or if you simply want a springboard to get you there faster, you would benefit from the Light Bulb Thinking™ Executive Coaching *Taster* Package.

I have three standard coaching packages. I created a fourth, the Taster package, for those leaders who want to fast track changing their problem-solving paradigm. This two-session package provides an overview of Light Bulb Thinking™ and a deep dive into the first – and most important – of the four phases (Planning to be Creative), as well as a coaching session. You may be skilled enough to implement Light Bulb Thinking™ on your own after experiencing the Taster package. If not, or if you want a deeper dive, we can decide which coaching package is right for you.

The Taster coaching package is already deeply discounted. However, to celebrate its launch, there’s an additional discount for the first five who sign up – to date, two of these spots are taken. If you, or know a leader who, would like an effective tool for avoiding the potholes of under-performing teams, a flat bottom line, and uninspiring solutions, then I’ll be happy to schedule a free consult to answer questions. Contact me at Ellia@ThePotentialCenter.com to arrange a time. There’s more info about the taster package at https://ThePotentialCenter.com/taster-package.
